An overnight ferry from Tokyo to Tokushima became one of the calmest and most refreshing parts of my Japan trip. With an onboard onsen, quiet lounges, sunrise views over the water, and a full digital detox, the journey turned into the perfect break from constant movement. It’s a long ride, but one I’d happily take again.

Traveling overnight from Osaka to Shibushi, the MOL Sunflower Ferry offered private cabins, an onboard onsen, and quiet lounges. Compared to the train, it was cheaper and included accommodation, making it a surprisingly comfortable and scenic way to reach Kyushu.

Flying ANA First Class on the Boeing 777-300ER from Tokyo to Chicago was one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences I’ll never forget.
