Mount Jinba, Kanagawa, Japan
I didn’t expect a train delay this morning, but issues on the tracks caused significant delays. Luckily, I reached Sagamiko Station before 11 AM. From there, I walked through small alley to the trailhead behind a temple, about 10 minutes away.
At the start, my muscles felt stiff, and my feet were heavy. It took nearly 2 kms in before I found my rhythm. Some steep sections were muddy, so I focused on not slipping. Once I reached Myouō Pass, the trail widened and became easier. The view of Mt. Fuji here was perfect, so I took a quick photo break. I also started seeing trail runners onwards.
At the Jinba peak, I found the large concrete horse statue marking the spot, representing the mountain’s name, "horse camp." There was also a tea house with a great view of Mt. Fuji. I spent about 15 minutes taking photos and eating my bread before heading down. The descent followed a newly developed trail through tree roots. At the bus stop, I noticed I had scratched my right calf—it was bleeding, but I hadn’t realized it until then!
