Ocean Tokyu Ferry: Tokyo - Tokushima
I extended my Japan trip by two more weeks and decided to head to Shikoku using the overnight ferry. I’d taken this route before, but was still excited. After hanging around Tokyo Station and grabbing some snacks, I took the bus to the ferry terminal. It was less crowded than last time.
I used a self check-in machine for my ticket, then waited to board. Once on board, I got my room key. This ferry is known for its frozen food vending machines—with meals, drinks, ice cream, and even alcohol. I only grabbed some ice cream since I brought my own food. There’s also an onsen on the ship, and while the night view was limited, the sunrise over the water was amazing.
There was no Wi-Fi, so I relaxed in the lounge reading and watching downloaded shows. The quietness on board made it a peaceful trip. I arrived at Tokushima just before 1:30 PM—it’s one of the longest ferry rides I’ve ever taken.
