Preparation & Planning
Cash vs Credit Card
I carried a total of €300 in cash for TMB hike. All accommodations accepted credit cards or were prepaid via Agoda or booked direct, so cash was primarily needed for emergencies.
Most grocery stores and restaurants also accept cards, but it’s useful to have some cash on hand for the more remote huts during breaks. I mainly used VISA and occasionally AMEX.
Cellphone Plans & eSIM
My cellphone plan from Canada covers roaming abroad. I didn't need to purchase a separate eSIM.
