Mount Tonosu, Saitama, Japan

Since I’m staying in Hanno for a few days, I decided to explore some nearby mountains. First, I hiked Mt. Tenran (197m) and Mt. Tonosu (271m), both within walking distance from town. Knowing the hike wouldn’t be too difficult, I took my time in the morning.

The climb up Mt. Tenran was quick, but the panoramic view of Hanno was worth it. After a short break, I continued to Mt. Tonosu. The trail was a bit muddy from yesterday’s rain, so I was extra careful on the slippery descent. Along the way, I took a few detours to check out other landmarks before reaching the peak, where a few hikers were resting. Since I wasn’t tired, I didn’t stay long and headed down toward Atsuma Gorge.

The trail along the river was covered in fallen leaves, making some sections hard to follow, but the scenery was beautiful. After that, I made my way to Hanno Riverbank, a popular spot for camping and BBQs in the summer. I returned to my hotel after to relax for the rest of the day.
